Emily Dang (she/her)

B.Sc (Nutrition Science, Psychological Science), M. Nutrition and Dietetics

Emily is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian who leads with compassion and curiosity in her sessions. Growing up, she noticed that even her strongest, most tenacious role models second guessed themselves when it came to their relationship with food and their bodies. Seeing a vast majority of people in her life affected to various degrees by diet culture, and after her own struggles with disordered eating, Emily became resolved to help others disengage from the cycle of comparison and critical self-judgement.

Emily holds a safe space for clients to explore their unique experiences and challenges with food, combining evidence-based nutrition frameworks with a warm, client-centred approach to meet people where they are in their journey and respect their individual autonomy.

An emerging area of interest is the intersection between food and body concerns with those participating in sports at any level. She recently published research into the eating behaviours and nutrition knowledge of dancers, titled 'What do we know about the diets and energy status of professional and pre-professional dancers? A scoping review.'

Emily engages in frequent professional development activities to further develop her skills and better support her clients. In her spare time, Emily enjoys experimenting with new hobbies and has recently resigned herself to accepting poor baking results cannot be blamed on equipment.
